| Recorded over one night on last year’s epic orchestra tour, SHAPESHIFTER LIVE is an exciting new album which encapsulates the essence, energy & vitality of NZ’s top live act, & features hits from all three of their studio albums, including When I Return, Tapestry, Bring Change, and One.
SHAPESHIFTER LIVE is an extremely special album capturing the band in a way they have never been before. In cutting-edge Shapeshifter fashion, they created this unique experience as they performed with leading orchestras in Auckland, Wellington & Christchurch mid-to-late 2006. These shows sold out well in advance & the revolutionary fusion between the orchestras & Shapeshifter created an electric atmosphere, which thousands of lucky punters eagerly lapped up. SHAPESHIFTER LIVE was recorded on 29 September 2006 at the Chch Town Hall, the final show of their orchestra tour & in the band’s hometown, with all the strings on the tracks arranged by the legendary Victoria Kelly & performed with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Marc Taddei. The recording on the night was captured by Andre Upston & then mixed by longtime Shapeshifter associate/soundman & Salmonella Dub frontman Tiki Taane, Shapeshifter�s Sam Trevethick & Andre Upston. |
